Each cottage has its own separate sauna on the beach. The saunas are traditional Finnish wood-heated saunas, famous for their soft steam. The lakeside villas house tourists around the year. They are located approximately 2 km away from the main farm of Loikansaari, at the eastern end of the island in the peaceful Hoviniemi cape. The villas have been built of rugged dressed logs and they represent Finnish log building tradition at its best. The villas have clear ground plans, large and high living rooms, roomy bedrooms with sufficient storage space. A cosy farmhouse kitchen and a log stove radiating heat provide a nice atmosphere and cosiness, particularly in the cold season. The roomy verandas on the lakeside invite you to dine outside in the summertime. The saunas have been placed conveniently under the same roof. They are large and wood-heated, the steam is soft and there is certainly enough air. From the sauna you can run straight to the waves of Saimaa, because the lakeside villas have been built as close to the beach as possible. The lake views are really magnificent, there are miles and miles of water across the Haapavesi to Savonliinna. There is no direct view to neighbours from our lakeside villas; you can enjoy peace and quiet in your “hidden cottage”.
